Greenwich Birthday Kids Mini Art Contest

From Monday 16 September 2024 pick up a mini canvas from any Lane Cove Library branch and create an artwork to celebrate Greenwich Library’s 60th birthday!

Win arty prizes and a chance to have your work displayed at Greenwich Library in our Kids Mini Art Show during November 2024.

The artworks will be judged in three age categories:

· 3-6 years

· 7-9 years

· 10-14 years

One entry per person. Shorelink membership is required. Artworks must be returned to Lane Cove Library by Monday 28 October.

Prizes will be presented at the Greenwich Library Birthday Celebrations on Saturday 2 November at 11am.

 

How To Enter?

Collect a canvas from a Lane Cove Library branch from 9:30am Monday 16 September 2024. Lane Cove Library branches include Lane Cove Library, Greenwich Library, St Leonards Library, and The Yarn, Hunters Hill.

Entries will be registered using a Shorelink Library membership. Children must have a membership to be eligible for the competition. Only one entry can be collected per individual.

Completed artworks must be returned to a Lane Cove Library branch by 8:59pm Monday 28 October 2024.

Completed artworks must have a full name, age, and contact number on the reverse side to be eligible for entry.

 

Terms and Conditions

Entries will be accepted between 9:30am Monday 16 September 2024 and 8:59pm Monday 28 October 2024. 

Entries must be the original work of one artist, respond to the theme of Greenwich Library’s 60th birthday, and be created in any 2D medium using the canvas supplied by Lane Cove Library.

TO ENTER: Entrants must hand in their entries to either Lane Cove Library, Greenwich Library, St Leonards Library or The Yarn, Hunters Hill.

Three winners will be selected by a panel of judges from each from the following categories:  Category 1: Children aged 3 to 6 years, Category 2: Children aged 7 to 9 years, and Category 3: Children aged 10 to 14 years, providing they meet the eligibility criteria. Nine Winners in total will each receive an art pack. Total prize money = $360.

Each submission is considered one entry. A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted. Individuals must have a current Shorelink Library membership for registration.

Participants own the copyright of their submission. In entering the competition, the participant gives Lane Cove Council authority to reproduce, publish, communicate or display the work online (including social media), in presentations, videos, publications and, if selected, for public display at various venues.

Where possible, entrants will be credited with the image of their submission when they are used, however this is not guaranteed.

Artists will be notified by phone if their artwork is chosen to display. The selected artworks will be displayed at Greenwich Library during November 2024.

The winners will be announced at 11:00am on Saturday 2 November 2024 at Greenwich Library. 

Winners and Prizes

Judging

  • A panel of judges, appointed by the Council will judge the entries and select a winner.
  • The decision of the judging panel is final.

Winners will be announced at Greenwich Library at 11am on Saturday 2 November 2024.

A selection of entries will be on display throughout November at Greenwich Library.

Prizes will be awarded at the event or will be available for collection at a selected Lane Cove Library branch from Monday 4 November 2024.
