Looking up at the playground structure at Friedlander Place

Friedlander Place in St Leonards has taken home an Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) NSW Landscape Architecture Award for Play Spaces.

Named after the longest serving Mayor of Lane Cove, Syd Friedlander, this impressive space features a large bespoke play feature in the shape of a leaf curl spider as well as a table tennis table, fitness equipment and seating for relaxation.

The jury applauded the flexibility of the playground, describing it as allowing for “…imaginative, active and nature play, while well designed seating and nearby cafes ensure a comfortable place for multigenerational family groups to spend time.”

Well done to all involved and thanks to Arcadia Landscape Architecture for the fantastic design!

Friedlander Place is located at 490 Pacific Highway, St Leonards. Find out more.
