Congratulations to Our Volunteer Bushcare Groups!

We are thrilled to announce that the Volunteer Bushcare Groups in Lane Cove Council's Bushcare program have won a 2024 NSW Volunteer of the Year Award!

NSW Volunteer of the Year Award 2024

The NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards celebrate the incredible dedication, effort, and community service of our state’s volunteers, leaders, and teams. Our 23 volunteer bushcare groups work tirelessly every month to restore and conserve urban bushland reserves across Lane Cove. With 96 passionate members, the Bushcare program is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year!

In just the last five years, our volunteers have contributed 7,250 hours of labor at 864 bushcare sessions. It takes a special kind of person to be a bushcare volunteer, and we are so grateful for their dedication to our environment.

If you’re inspired and would like to join our team, we’d love to have you! With over 20 groups, there’s sure to be one near you. Hope to see you soon!
