Election results

The results of the Local Government Elections held on 14 September 2024 have been announced, with the Returning Officer today formally declaring the result.

Congratulations to the nine Councillors who will be representing the Lane Cove community from 2024 – 2028:

Central Ward:

Kathy Bryla (Independent)

Bridget Kennedy (Independent)

Caleb Taylor (Independent)

East Ward:

Helena Greenwell (Independent)

David Roenfeldt (Labor)

Merri Southwood (Independent)

West Ward:

Scott Bennison (Independent)

Rochelle Flood (Greens)

Katie Little (Labor)

An Extraordinary Council meeting will be held on Thursday 10 October 2024 at 7:00pm, where the Councillors will take their Oath of Office and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be elected.

Council will update its website in the coming weeks with the contact details and profiles of the newly elected Councillors.

Council is made up of nine Councillors, including a Council-elected Mayor.

The nine Councillors each represent one of the three wards that make up Lane Cove:

  • East Ward
  • West Ward
  • Central Ward

Residential Rolls

The residential roll is the list of people who live in the council area and are eligible to vote in election.

You can find your electorate and check your enrolment details with the NSW Electoral Commission.

Non-residential Rolls

The non-residential rolls provide people who are non-resident owners, occupiers and rate-paying lessees of rateable land within the Council area an opportunity to have a say in who is elected to Council.

As outlined in the forms, completed forms must be received by 6:00pm, 5 August 2024:

General Information

Nominations closed at 12:00pm on 14 August 2024.

The NSWEC provides support and assistance to candidates to help them understand their legal obligations regarding political donations and electoral expenditure.

The Office of Local Government has launched an online "Become a councillor: Information and Guide"

The interactive resource provides candidates with an introduction to the roles and responsibilities of councils and councillors. It is designed to equip candidates with an understanding of what their role and responsibilities will be if they are elected.
