Lane Cove Public Art Advisory Committee

The objective of the Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) is to provide Council with expert advice, critique, and comment on the ongoing development, guidance, and implementation of the Lane Cove Council Public Art Policy in relation to each Council or developer-based project including public art commissions.

The Committee is responsible for critique and comment on public arts presentations at relevant milestones within the projects, and for formulating recommendations to Council’s General Manager on whether to proceed at each project stage.

The Public Art Committee is made up of ten members, in accordance with their experience and knowledge of contemporary visual arts, craft, design, community arts, cultural practice, and the Lane Cove Council area.  There will be a mix of ages, genders, cultural background and variety of career stages.

A curator from Gallery Lane Cove, one Councillor (and an alternate Councillor), appropriate Council staff and the Public Art Coordinator are also part of this committee.
