Sustainability Advisory Committee

The Sustainability Advisory Committee's function is to assist Council to formulate, prioritise, and implement strategies and initiatives to achieve sustainability in Lane Cove municipality.

Sustainability is high on the agenda for Lane Cove Council, and Council wishes to ensure that sustainability activities are community based and that local knowledge and expertise is applied to the task of formulating and implementing initiatives for the long term benefit of the community in the Lane Cove municipality.  The Committee also advises on projects to be funded by Council's sustainability levy, and is guided by the Sustainability Action Plan.

The committee is made up of

• five community residents,
• one youth resident,
• two representatives of local businesses who have a focus on sustainable business practices and principles,
• one member of the Lane Cove Bushland Management Advisory Committee,
• three Councillors
• Council staff.
