Ask a Sustainability Expert
The Ask a Sustainability Expert program is a free Council initiative offering residents expert advice to help them adopt sustainable living practices.
Whether you're looking to save money on your energy bills, install EV charging, create a native garden, or have some tricky recycling questions, you'll gain valuable insights during your one-on-one session.
Residents can meet with a maximum of two experts on the following topics:
- Energy efficiency, solar power and batteries, Greenpower, reducing electricity costs and understanding your electricity bill
- Strata solar and batteries, EV charging and heat pumps for common hot water plants
- Building and renovating sustainably
- Recycling, repair and reuse, composting and worm farming
- Building resilience for extreme weather events and neighbourhood connections
- Native gardening, habitat to attract birds and bees, water wise gardens and balcony gardens.
Why get involved?
Residents will receive:
- A 30-minute online (or phone) meeting with the relevant expert.
- Advice tailored to your needs and circumstances.
- A follow up email with resources and a survey.
How to apply:
Program process:
1. Complete the registration form and nominate your preferred weekday and time for your 30-minute meeting.
2. Council will contact the relevant expert/s to confirm the mutual time.
3. Accept the calendar invite with the link to the Microsoft Teams meeting or phone call.
4. Complete a follow up survey on any outcomes from the consultation.
