Weaving Stories Project

Council has been working on the Weaving Climate Stories project where community members have participated in activities designed to bring people together to increase connection. With a range of courses and workshops, there was something for everyone, including our upcoming Film Festival.

Future Filmmaker & Sharing Stories

This filmmaking course includes a series of workshops to develop impactful stories together. From discovering the story, to making and editing and getting ready for the big screen. Participants will have the opportunity to have their films screened in the Weaving Climate Stories Film Festival in 2025.

Weaving and Yarning Workshops

Join muruwari artist, Dr Virginia Keft, for a series of Weaving & Yarning workshops for all-ages and all backgrounds. Connect with others while you learn about Aboriginal weaving techniques, share a story, and discover a new skill.

Intergenerational Workshops

Would you like bring a new perspective to your thinking by connecting with members of a different generation? Council is hosting organised activities such as cooking and weaving workshops to create the space for interactions between youth and seniors to build a sense of connection and story sharing.

Climate Leadership Workshops

Improve your leaderships skills and understanding of climate change. Learn about different types of leaders and how to grow as an agent for change to help protect our environment.

Weaving Stories Film Festival

Join us at this free film festival event to celebrate the Lane Cove Weaving Climate Stories project & showcase the inspiring short films.
