The Silk Road was a network of trade routes that connected Asia, Africa, and Europe for over 1,500 years. It was a vital route for the exchange of goods, ideas, and cultures between the East and West. Following the collapse of the USSR in 1991 countries such as Kazakhstan declared their independence and opened up to tourism.
Graeme Davis recently travelled part of the route, visiting well known places such as Samarkand and Bukhara. Join us for an insight into this fascinating and historical part of the world.
