Third party footpath works

From time to time footpath works are undertaken by utility companies to access and install services located underground. Council has limited opportunity to input into the location, timing or nature of works undertaken as they are governed by legislation outside of our control. Following the works being completed by third parties it is a requirement that the location is restored - often in the first instance this is a temporary restoration to make the area safe until final restoration can be completed. If you have noticed an area that looks to be temporarily fixed and you feel it is unsafe, please report to Council on (02) 9911 3555 or via online services.

Council typically performs permanent restorations at the cost of the responsible utility company. This makes sure that the quality of work aligns with the standards and amenity expected by our community. Council can only schedule final repairs when notified by the utility provider that their works are complete. If you would like to report an area that you believe requires final restoration or seek clarification, please contact Council via our online services.
