Council Advisory Committee Nominations 2024

Join a Council Advisory Committee and participate in Council's decision-making process

We are committed to ensuring there is two-way communication and understanding between the community and Council. To facilitate this, we convene and support a variety of Advisory and Consultative Committees.

Council is currently calling for members of the Lane Cove LGA community to become involved as representatives for several of our Advisory Committees. Nominations are open from 4 November - 16 December 2024.

If you are interested in joining a Committee, please review the information for the various Committees below and read the Charter and Code of Conduct before submitting your nomination. 

Council is calling for nominations for the following committees:
  • Access and Age-Friendly Advisory Committee
  • Bicycle Advisory Committee
  • Bushland Management Advisory Committee
  • Companion Animal Advisory Committee
  • Lane Cove Festival Advisory Committee
  • Lane Cove Public Art Advisory Committee
  • Sporting Club Advisory committee
  • Sustainability Advisory Committee
  • Youth Advisory Group
  • Inclusion Advisory Group (name to be determined).

 

 

 

Traffic Committee

This technical committee consists of agency representatives such as Transport for NSW, NSW Police and Sydney Buses, as well as a Councillor and a representative on behalf of the Local Member

Bicycle Advisory Committee

This Committee provides advice to the General Manager on cycling in the Lane Cove area.

Bushland Management Advisory Committee

This Committee provides advice to the General Manager on bushland management within Lane Cove

Carisbrook Committee

This Committee assists Council with the administration of Carisbrook House.

Companion Animal Committee

This Committee provides advice to the General Manager on the use of open space and other facilities for companion animals within the Lane Cove municipality.

Kindy Cove Management Advisory Committee

This Committee provides collaboration between parents, staff, Council and community representatives.

Lane Cove Festival Advisory Committee

This Committee advises and assists Council on the formulation, planning, development, promotion and implementation of a program of celebrations and activities within Lane Cove.

Lane Cove Public Art Advisory Committee

This Committee provides Council with expert advice, critique, and comment on the ongoing development, guidance, and implementation of the Public Art Policy.

Lane Cove Retirement Units Association Ltd Board

Lane Cove Retirement Units Association is managed by a Board (who are volunteers) elected by residents, together with two Directors nominated by Lane Cove Council

Sporting Club Advisory Committee

This Committee provides advice to the General Manager on sports and recreation facilities within Lane Cove municipality.

Sustainability Advisory Committee

This Committee's function is to assist Council to formulate, prioritise, and implement strategies and initiatives to achieve sustainability in Lane Cove municipality.

Youth Advisory Group

This group assists Council in providing a voice to young people and to create opportunities for young people to participate, engage and be heard in their local community.

Audit Risk and Improvement Committee

ARIC provides independent assurance and assistance to Council on risk management, control, governance, and external accountability

Inclusion Advisory Committee

This Committee assists the General Manager with the development of a social inclusion strategy to address issues and challenges of disadvantaged and underrepresented groups. The Committee's name will be determined following consultation.

Access and Age-Friendly Advisory Committee

This Committee provides assistance to the General Manager in identifying and addressing access, inclusion and age related issues that impact the community in the Lane Cove municipality.
